The Death of Jesse James consists of four tessellating, continuous line tracings of the infamous death photograph of Jesse James. Sourced from the internet, the image was projected onto A1 paper and traced by hand with a Sharpie, each rendition identical in origin yet subtly distinct in execution.
Arranged side by side, the four shifting impressions echo and distort one another, emphasizing the instability of historical imagery and myth. The repetition fractures the moment, transforming a singular, mythic event into a fluctuating, ghostly repetition.
